Columbia River Hydroelectric Generating Facilities

Hawkins served as underwriters' counsel for financings of Public Utility District No. 1 of Chelan County, Washington, and is centrally located in the State of Washington along the Columbia River.  The District owns, operates and maintains three major hydroelectric power generating projects:  the Rock Island Project, the Rocky Reach Project and the Lake Chelan Project, as well as a distribution system  for the power it generates.  These three Hydro-Electric projects, which have a combined nameplate rating of 1,988 megawatt, provides most of the District's retail power supply, power in excess of the District’s needs is sold to wholesale and retail customers.
