Niles Murphy, Megan Sartor and Erich Schmitz have been elected Partners

Hawkins Delafield & Wood LLP is pleased to announce the election of Niles Murphy, Megan Sartor and Erich Schmitz to partner, effective January 1, 2026.

Niles focuses his practice on public finance, serving as bond counsel and underwriters’ counsel on a wide range of tax-exempt financings for health care systems, educational institutions, and other 501(c)(3) organizations. He works closely with state and local issuers to structure transactions that meet each client’s specific goals, with a particular emphasis on helping hospitals and colleges improve facilities that serve the public.

Megan focuses her practice on the procurement and implementation of infrastructure projects using public-private partnerships and alternative delivery models. She advises public entities on projects across the solid waste, recycling, renewable energy, residuals, and water and wastewater treatment sectors, assisting with the development of procurement documents and the negotiation of complex agreements, including design-build, design-build-operate, and design-build-finance-operate contracts. Megan also works with clients on the sale of public water and wastewater systems to private utilities.

Erich focuses his practice on public finance and related financing activities for nonprofit organizations, banking institutions, and governmental issuers. He works on transactions across a range of sectors, including health care, social infrastructure, transportation, multifamily housing, and education, helping clients structure financings that support essential public and community-serving projects.
