Mauro assists clients on a wide array of public finance matters including, among others, financing for energy, transportation, drinking water facilities and for colleges, universities and museums.

Since joining Hawkins, Mauro has served as bond counsel, disclosure counsel and underwriter’s counsel in connection with a broad range of financings primarily involving the issuance of revenue supported municipal obligations, including transportation, educational, economic development and public utility financings.

Mauro has served as bond counsel to many New York State issuers, including the New York State Environmental Facilities Corporation, the Long Island Power Authority, the Power Authority of the State of New York and the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority. 

Mauro has experience in financings involving a diverse mix of financing techniques and credit structures, including the issuance of tax-exempt and taxable debt, variable rate/multi-modal obligations, tender option “put” bonds, senior/subordinate obligations, securitization and financings involving the utilization of derivative products such as swaps.
