Hawkins has served as bond counsel to the California Department of Veterans Affairs for many years. This $110 million bond issuance generated funds for the Veterans’ Farm and Home Building Fund of 1943, which helps eligible veterans to finance or refinance their individual residence loans for single family homes, condominiums, farms or mobile homes. The program also acquires residential property to be sold to veterans under a Contract of Purchase.
