LaGuardia Airport Terminal B Redevelopment Project

Hawkins served as underwriters' counsel in financing the redevelopment of New York's LaGuardia Airport, including particularly construction of a new Terminal B. This project, part of New York's major infrastructure revitalization initiative, is one of The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey's most capital intensive and high profile undertakings to modernize the region's air transportation system. The bonds were secured by various project and lease agreements with the LaGuardia Gateway Partners, LLC, the project company selected by the Port Authority to complete the project. The project sponsors included Meridiam, Skanska and Vantage. Operating revenues the developer receives from the operation of the Terminal B facilities, including payments made by airlines and providers of concession goods and services, are pledged to pay debt service on the bonds.
