Tri-county Metropolitan Transportation District of Oregon Payroll Tax Senior Lien Bonds

The Tri-County Metropolitan Transportation District of Oregon provides public transportation to the Portland metropolitan area with almost 80 bus lines, the MAX light rail system connecting the region to its international airport, and its Westside Express Service commuter rail. Hawkins represented TriMet in this $134 million bond issuance, which is secured by payroll and self-employment taxes. The bond proceeds were used to purchase new buses and a new electronic fare system.
